ST and standard suspension differences

784 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  STowned
Hello all, first post and all that so here goes,

Can anyoone tell me what the differences are between the St suspension and the normal Mondeo suspension?

Everyone says that they are different, but when asked "What's different?" no one can actually pinpoint what the differences are.

Hi Dojj,
I can tell you for a fact that the following are different;

Front anti-roll bar
Wishbones
Wheel hub
Drop links
Dampers
Springs

There may be more, but that's all I know of at the time being.
The shocks and springs are stiffer and are lowered slightly

Hi, does this mean that the overall height of the units is the same but the spring platform is lower ?

more like the springs are stiffer and lower than normal mondeo ones, you'll find the shocks are probably the same fitting but are also slightly uprated.

I keep meaning to contact BC and Kw about coilovers for my estate but I'm in no rush

Hi.

I had a 2.5 Ghia X and I modded it quite a bit, including the suspension. If you are talking about an ST24, then the shocks are the same just stiffer. I lowered it by 40mm. The roll bar was the same as both cars were V6's. An ST200 is a totally different beast with unique suspension.
