As we all have probley found out that cleaning our wheels isnt the easiest thing to clean on a car. Built up road grime, salt and brake dust make them a nightmare to keep in top top condition at times.

Here is a list of products that are sure to keep your Wheels and Tyres looking there best and also protected for aslong as possible.

Wheel Cleaning:

Cleaning Wheels doesnt need to be back breaking work anymore, modern cleaners are very effective and take the bulk of the work load out of cleaning your wheels.
Most modern wheel cleaning solutions are now PH neutral, this means the wheel cleaner is not acidic/alkali which overtime will damage and corrode your rims.

You should always check to see if the wheel cleaner you are using/buying is PH balanced, if it's not then chuck it away as it'll do more harm than good.

The best wheel cleaners on the market:Wheel Brushes & Mitts:

A good wheel brush/Mitt is just as important as the wheel cleaner you are using. If the bristles are too stiff then the chances are your gonna leave scratches and swirls on your wheels. My personal prefferance is to use a 1" round brush, this is so i can get into the tight corners of the wheels with ease, ensuring a fully clean wheel with no dirt left in the hard to reach places.

Best brushes/mitts on the market:Wheel Sealant:

Ok so now you've got your wheels looking tip top, how do you keep them that way? Simple, you need to seal them. By sealing your wheels you are putting a protective barriers between your wheels and any contamination that is going to come in contact with them. The sealant will ensure your wheels stay cleaner for longer and next time you come to wash your wheels all that brake dust and road grime will just simply wipe off with ease.

Best wheel sealant's on the market:Tyre Dressing:

Ok so now your rims are looking hot, but your tyres are looking rather dull and letting the finish down? Time for some tyre dressing. Tyre dressing isnt all about making your tyres look good, the dressing will restore any moisture lost from the rubber compound and help to prevent discolouration and cracking of the tyre. Once the tyres have been cleaned and allowed to dry throughly then apply the dressing and let it dry.

Nice choice of products Chris, but i would add Carpro Iron X to the wheel cleaning section, because once you have cleaned the heavy dirt off the wheel there is still ferrous metals embedded in the clear coat from the red hot sinter that the brakes create.

As you can see from these pics, the wheels where first cleaned and de-tarred then where sprayed with Iron X left to react for a while then agitated with a brush then rinsed off.

Red colour you see is the reaction to the sinter in the clear coat.
